Museum of Liverpool, Tate Liverpool, Walker Art Gallery, Maritime Museum and World Museum all have child-friendly galleries, exhibitions and events. The beautiful Central Library has a large children’s section with lots of space to read and relax.

For something a little bit different, head to Quirky Quarter, for upside-down activities and mind boggling illusions. 

Liverpool has more parks than Paris – a run around one of these will make sure kids burn off some energy.
