Crosby Beach is the beginning of the 22 mile Sefton Coastal Path. From the shore visitors can enjoy views across the sea to Wirral and North Wales hills.
Thanks to the beaches close proximity to the Port of Liverpool, beach goers can regularly marvel at the huge container and cruise ships that pass by. The Burbo Bank offshore wind-farm is also visible from the beach front and offers a unique and beautiful view, especially at sunset.
Crosby Beach is where you can see some of the finest sunsets in the country. The opening to the Irish Sea leaves uninterrupted views as the sun seemingly melts into the ocean.
The cherry on the cake of this area of coastline is internationally acclaimed artist Antony Gormley's 'Another Place' installation. Crosby Beach is the permanent home to 100 cast-iron figures that stretch the coastline and almost a mile out to sea.
Please note - Crosby beach is a non-bathing beach with areas of soft sand and mud and a risk of changing tides. Visitors should stay within 50 metres of the promenade at all tides and not attempt to walk out to the furthest figures.
The beach has been awarded the Quality Coast Award by Keep Britain Tidy. The QCA award tells visitors that the standards of beach management are of the highest quality in the UK. Please - especially during these times where more visitors are attending outdoor spaces such as these - do not leave litter on the beach. If bins are full, please take your litter home with you.
If you’d like to visit Crosby Beach Merseyrail operate regular services from Liverpool Central and Moorfields stations in the city centre to Blundellsands and Crosby station, which is a short stroll away from the attraction.
