About

Formby Golf Course is not one for the faint hearted when it comes to a round of Golf. It's a classic course on the Lancashire coastline, just a short journey from Liverpool city centre.

The course is a little protected from the elements with thanks to the pine trees that line several holes, but the course is a tough one especially when the wind picks up!

An abudance of wildlife and plants at Formby Golf Club means that it has been declared a Site of Special Scientific Interest, it's fragile dunes, a designated conservation area.

The course is in good condition all year round, the greens are firm and the undulating fairways excellent. However, accuracy and concentration are prerequisites for every hole, with the heather and rough forming a natural boundary together with bunkers and sand hills; it does not serve the golfer to be unfocused.

The stunning surroundings of the course, may leave visitors feeling that they'd like to stay for a little longer. The clubhouse which originally opened in 1901 offers dormy house accommodation for both members and visitors.

Visitors can access both the men’s championship course and the Formby Ladies Golf Club on the same golf trip and over a weekend.
