Due to the current Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and after careful consideration and in line with official Government advice, stipulating that people should avoid public buildings including theatres to help slow the spread of coronavirus, Liverpool Everyman & Playhouse theatres will be postponing its shows at both venues until this advice changes.

Please see more information on the Everyman and Playhouse website.

The Everyman Theatre on Hope Street, in Liverpool's Georgian Quarter is a 'reincarnation' of the original 400-seat theatre, founded in 1964, that's now an exceptionally green and accessible place to visit.

Marked by an iconic red 'everyman' sign, the theatre is noticeable for it's unique public art; decorating the exterior of the building with 105 portraits of people from across Merseyside.

The Everyman Theatre has a history of providing Liverpool with revolutionary and ground-breaking theatre, it's position in Liverpool was once known for its' bohemian environnent and political edge.

The range of talent to emerge from the Everyman includes Julie Walters, Bernard Hill, Jonathan Pryce, Pete Postlethwaite, Alison Steadman, Antony Sher, Bill Nighy, Alan Bleasdale, Willy Russell, Barbara Dickson, Matthew Kelly, Cathy Tyson, David Morrissey, Stephen Graham and the Liverpool Poets.

Its sister theatre is the Playhouse in Williamson Square and together offers a programme of home grown work and the best in touring theatre.
