Unity Theatre has postponed public performances and events as a result of the circumstances surrounding Coronavirus (COVID-19). For further information and updates please visit the Unity Theatre website. 

Unity is the most accessible venue in the city and has been in it’s current home, the former synagogue in Hope Place, for 30 years.

Unity is a receiving house for professional and local theatre companies and provides a platform for small theatre companies. it boasts an excellent track record in encouraging new writing and supporting new companies.

unity holds a unique place in the cultural make up of the city, providing an eclectic mix of drama, dance, comedy, family friendly entertainment music and art.

Enhancing the quality of the performing arts on Merseyside by encouraging creativity, participation, innovation and diversity is written into unity's mission statement, and it has been described as 'The most ambitious theatre in Liverpool.' - The Guardian.

Road Directions

From the end of the M62 motorway follow the signs for the city centre and cathedrals, approx 3 miles. Turn left at the Metropolitan Cathedral and head past the Everyman Theatre and Philharmonic Hall, both on the left hand side along Hope Street. Hope Place is the first right turn off Hope Street after the Philharmonic Hall. The nearest car park is ECP on Caledonia Street. There is also a car park on Hope Street/Myrtle Street plus on-street pay and display parking around Hope Place. Please note that Hope Place is residents only parking between 8am & 6pm.

Public Transport Directions

Central Station and Lime Street train stations are a 15 minute walk away. For timetable information call 0871 200 22 33. Arriva Buses 1 and 4 link Hope Street with Liverpool City Centre and both stations. Other buses that stop nearby are:74, 75, 80/80A, 82, 82A, B & E and 86/86A, B & C.
