View the amazing life on board a real German U-boat at this award-winning attraction. With original film archive and interactive displays you will witness all the dramatic action! U-boat Story tells the story of World War II German submarine U-534.
You will see into the cross-sectioned submarine and discover its amazing story through a highly interactive and exciting exhibition.
At U-boat Story, you will be able to look into the U-Boat, now in four sections with glass viewing partitions, view its amazing interior and discover its surprisingly well preserved artefacts including a rare Enigma machine.
Through the exhibition's interactive and audiovisual exhibits you will gain a unigue insight into life on board a submarine during wartime, and the enduring mystery of U-534.
Make a day of it and take a Mersey Ferry to visit U-boat Story - entry to U-boat Story is now free as part of the Mersey Ferries River Explorer Cruise ticket so you can also enjoy the 50 minute River Explorer cruise with commentary.
U-boat Story is situated at Woodside Ferry Terminal, Birkenhead, Merseyside, CH41 6DU. Leave M53 at Junction 1 signposted to All Docks (A5139), follow brown tourism signs and turn right at A554 roundabout, follow brown sign to Woodside; or via A41, follow signs to Birkenhead and then follow brown sign to Woodside.
Parking - Woodside Ferry Terminal has a pay and display car park (£1 per hour).
Using Merseyrail's underground rail service, take the Wirral Line to Hamilton Square Station. Woodside Ferry Terminal is a 5-minute walk from the station.
