About

Housed in the iconic red-brick Victoria building the Victoria Gallery & Museum is a piece of art in itself.

The beautifully renovated gothic building houses the University of Liverpool’s amazing collection of fine art, silver, furniture, sculpture, ceramics, fossils, scientific equipment, zoological specimens collected by and donated to the University throughout its history.

Spanning the 16th to 21st centuries, the art collection comprises more than 6,500 items of fine art, sculpture, furniture, ceramics, glass and silverware.

Some of the highlights of the Museum collection include X-rays from the very beginning of X-ray technology, an early 20th century dental surgery and dinosaur footprints from the North West!
