Mere Brook House is an imposing Edwardian country house offering high class bed and breakfast with facilities for events such as weddings, celebrations and business meetings on the Wirral. It is situated on the edge of the picturesque village of Thornton Hough on the Wirral, between the famous cities of Liverpool and Chester.
This is Merseyside's first 5 star gold guesthouse and is situated in its own grounds extending to almost four acres which include a beautiful garden with sunken dell, sheltered by mature trees, with paddocks and a woodland area beyond running down to the Mere Brook.
Self Catering Availability
From April 12th to May 17th the Coach House can be booked for one or more nights on a self catering basis – it has a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, open plan lounge and three double bedrooms, one of which is suitable for a less able guest as it is on the ground floor with patio doors opening onto the garden and has a wet room in the ensuite.
Guests will be provided with everything you need to have a delicious breakfast including cereals, Mere Brook apple juice, yogurts, fresh fruit, bread, Mere Brook honey and eggs, sausages and bacon for those preferring a cooked breakfast.
The cost per night for exclusive use of the coach house is from £119 (for two people sharing a room) depending on the number of guests and number of bedrooms needed.
Mere Brook House
The House has recently been renovated and extended by a team of dedicated craft and trades people to update its facilities whilst retaining and enhancing many of its traditional features. The exclusive country house now comprises of four rooms in the Main House and four rooms in Mere Brook Cottage.

Map & Directions
Leave the M6 to join the M56 to Chester (not Manchester) at junction 20. At junction 15 of the M56 take the second exit for the M53 to Birkenhead (not Chester), Leave the M53 at junction 4, at the roundabout take the first exit to Clatterbridge, go past the hospital on your right and you come to a roundabout with a garage in the middle of it, go straight across and then at the next smaller roundabout turn left, you will go past the rugby club on your left, continue on this road and Mere Brook House is the last but one house before the motorway bridge on the right. It has a new wooden fence and there are two entrances close together both with stone pillars – use either entrance and you will see the house.
