About

Shore Cottage Studio is a working artists' studio uniquely situated in Wirral Peninsula, with unrivalled views over the Dee Estuary to North Wales. The house and studio are cut off by tides twice a day, and these varying tides, open views, and exposure to the elements make Shore Cottage Studio and its immediate environment an ever changing, exciting, dynamic, inspirational space.

We run inspirational short courses to suit absolutely anyone.

Shore Cottage has won the 'Small Visitor Attraction of the Year' at the 2016 Liverpool City Region Tourism Awards, the 'Sustainable Tourism Award' and ' Best Independent Business Business' at the 2016 Wirral Tourism Awards. They also  won the 'Coastal Best Practice: Coastal Leisure & Tourism Category of the North West Awards for Coastal Excellence' in 2015 & 2016.

Those looking for a creative getaway, who have never picked up a sketchbook before or who are looking to build their artistic confidence.
Practising artists looking to expand their lexicon of techniques and discover new media.
Anyone who is just looking for some time and space to be creative, relax and make friends.
We provide all the materials you will need for a wonderful creative break so all you need do is arrive and enjoy.

The studio itself is situated on the shore at the bottom of boulder clay cliffs in a Site of Specific Scientific Interest. Our truly unique setting allows us to feel like we are in the middle of nowhere.

The studio is accessed by a public footpath of steps with a handrail leading down the cliff onto the shore. All of our courses are designed to make the most of our stunning and unique location and therefore involve some time for you to walk along the shore sketching, photographing, collecting and interacting with the environment. If you would find accessing the studio or this interaction with the coast difficult for whatever reason we would love you to contact us to see if we can come up with any adjustments or solutions together.

We offer a range of creative courses including textiles, fabric dyeing, photography, glass fusing, print making and laser cutting. And most importantly we have squashy sofas overlooking the magnificent view for tea and cake.
