* Winner of 'Wirral Attraction of the Year' 2017.
Founded and built by Edwardian philanthropist Lord Leverhulme, the Lady Lever Art Gallery is set in the picturesque village of Port Sunlight. Inside, visitors will discover one of the most beautiful collections of fine and decorative art in the UK, including many world famous Pre-Raphaelite artworks alongside beautiful Chinese ceramics and Wedgwood jasperware.
The collections are an expression of Lord Leverhulme’s personal taste. He began collecting art in the late 19th century to use as advertising for the popular Sunlight Soap brand that helped to create his fortune. British art, Chinese porcelain, Roman sculpture and Greek vases as well as Eighteenth century furniture found its way into his collection and can now be seen on display.
For visitors with families, there are activity rooms where younger children can create their own works of art inspired by the Lady Lever collection, as well as dress up, read and be creative.
A visit to Lady Lever would not be complete without enjoying the café and shop. The Victorian themed shop has a wide range of nostalgic gifts, books and jewellery. The café serves a delicious menu of main meals, light refreshments and afternoon tea. Free Wifi is available in the café.
On site parking is available and Bebington train station is a 10 minute walk away.
