The Museum of Liverpool is the world’s first national museum devoted to the history of a regional city and the largest newly-built national museum in Britain for more than a century. The museum is located on Liverpool’s UNESCO World Heritage Site waterfront and represents Liverpool’s unique and interesting history.
Hop on board the overhead railway, immerse yourself in the city’s rich sporting and creative history and experience for yourself what it means to be Liverpudlian.

Exhibits showcase popular culture and tackle social, historical and contemporary issues of Liverpool’s region in an accessible, engaging manner. More than 6,000 objects bring Liverpool’s incredible heritage to life, celebrating thousands of years of the city’s achievements.
Exhibits include Ben Johnson’s Liverpool Cityscape, a life-size Liver bird, the first Ford Anglia from Ford’s Halewood production line and the famous 'Lion' locomotive.
Head to the People’s Republic gallery to see the sweeping views of the Three Graces - this window actually won ‘Best window with a view’ - so is definitely worth a stop off.
The café on the ground floor serves delicious traditional British food with a contemporary twist. Here, you can relax and enjoy excellent views of the canal and Albert Dock. Free Wifi is also available here.

Road access to Merseyside is excellent with the motorway network making access to central areas quick and easy. From the M6 follow the M56 or M62 to Liverpool.
Public Transport Directions
Regular services to and from Liverpool make it one of the most accessible cities on the UK rail network. Virgin trains operate a London-Liverpool service, with a journey time of just over 2 hours. National Express operate regular services from all major towns and cities in Britain to Norton Street Coach Station, Liverpool.
