The well-being of visitors to the Bluecoat is always of the utmost importance to the Bluecoat especially so during this uncertain time. Following the recent government advice for people to avoid socialising in crowded places due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, Bluecoat have taken the difficult decision to close until further notice. Please keep up to date by visiting their website.
A Grade I listed, 300 year old building in the heart of Liverpool’s city centre, Bluecoat offers a year-round programme of visual art, literature, music, dance and family activities.
In addition, Bluecoat is home to a wide range of artists and creative businesses, ranging from jewellery and ceramic ware at the internationally recognised Bluecoat Display Centre, to hand-made accessories, boutique clothing and specialist hand-engraving and silversmith services.
Visitors to Bluecoat are welcome to enjoy our free exhibitions, discover the 300 year history of our building in our heritage display, relax in the tranquil garden with a coffee and a cake from our cafe, or indulge in a delicious meal in the beautiful Upstairs bistro.
Bluecoat offers something for all the family – the garden and galleries are the perfect place to bring your little ones to explore. There are also free self-led children's activities in our cafe, and an ever-changing programme of special family events. Baby changing facilities are available and mothers are welcome to breastfeed wherever they wish.
