A Grade I listed, 300 year old building in the heart of Liverpool’s city centre, Bluecoat offers a year-round programme of exhibitions and events, along with family activities, a relaxing cafe and a secluded garden. You can also explore Bluecoat online here.
Bluecoat is a home for artists, with artists in residence and artist studios based there. The building also houses a wide range of independent retailers and creative businesses. Discover jewellery and ceramic ware at Bluecoat Display Centre, specialist hand-engraving and silversmith services at R & J Porter, hand-tied bouquets from Mary Mary Florals, houseplants from Root, antique books from Kernaghan Books and more.
Bluecoat is the perfect destination for all the family. The cafe has a dedicated children’s area with free self-led activities and there’s an ever-changing programme of special family events. Baby changing facilities are available and mothers are supported to breastfeed wherever they wish.
Bluecoat is currently closed to visitors, in line with government restrictions, but will aim to reopen in the summer.
Check their website for updates, thebluecoat.org.uk.
Bluecoat has been awarded Visit England’s ‘Good to Go’ kitemark as a result of extra health and safety measures they’ve put in place to ensure the safety of their visitors.
