Nestled away from the hustle of bustle of Heswall, “the Jug” as it is affectionately known by the locals sits up at the top of Mount Avenue in its own tranquil gardens with views overlooking the hills of North Wales.

Winner of the 'Wirral Taste Award' 2014, this is a traditional local pub offering a fantastic selection of the very best local ales and wines. It also offers the very best of fresh homemade British food sourced from the finest local producers ensuring the highest of quality in every dish.

Road Directions

The Jug and Bottle is situated in the centre of Heswall just off Telegraph Road (A540). On entering the centre of Heswall, at the main cross roads (with Natwest and Lloyds TSB), take the road named “The Mount” which Lloyds TSB sits on the corner of. Continue along this road for approximately 150 metres, Mount Avenue is the first road on the left. Take this road and The Jug and Bottle is at the top. Parking is free in the right hand side car park for customers.

Public Transport Directions

If travelling by bus, Heswall bus station is only a few minutes walk from The Jug and Bottle. On leaving the bus station, walk across the road and you will find to the left of the Fire Station a footpath that runs along the side of the library. Follow this footpath and The Jug and Bottle is just a few minutes walk along this path.If travelling by train, Heswall Train Station is the nearest station. The station is located on Brimstage Road and therefore you will need to take a taxi from the Station to the Jug and Bottle.
