THE ZUTONS!
Emerging from Liverpool’s ‘Cosmic Scouse’ scene back in 2001, the Zutons are indeed Scouse indie rock royalty with their soulful, funky sounds described as ‘psychedelic cartoon punk with a unique blend of rock pop, jazz, funk, and general eclecticism!’ Their debut album – Who Killed The Zutons? – was released to critical acclaim in 2004, reaching number 9 in the UK album charts and going on to sell over 600,000 copies, followed by Tired of Hanging Around in 2006, from which came 2 top 10 UK chart singles: "Why Won't You Give Me Your Love?" and "Valerie" – later a huge cover hit for Amy Winehouse. The band - songwriter Dave McCabe (lead vocals, guitar), Abi Harding (saxophone, vocals) and Sean Payne (drums) has recently been back in the studio recording a new album with Nile Rodgers producing, which McCabe describes as “quite happy, going out music..”
