Southport’s British Musical Fireworks Championship is back with a bang! The three-night festival runs from Friday 23rd September to Sunday 25th September in Victoria Park, Southport.

It’s almost time to grab a blanket and head to Victoria Park to celebrate the start of the Autumn with Southport’s British Musical Fireworks Championship. Breath-taking displays, children gasping with delight, and dancing the night away at the fireworks extravaganza!

Watch this year’s competitors battle it out over the three nights, each hoping to be crowned the ultimate winner! A panel of professional judges will be scoring throughout.
The British Musical Fireworks Championship is a pyro musical competition. The fireworks are fired to the music and the show is choreographed to give you some of the most spectacular fireworks you will ever see.
During the competition, over two tonnes of explosive material are used with the total weight of fireworks over 10 tonnes! Each show required around 5 kilometres of wire to connect the electrical circuits and around 15 technicians working for over 12 hours to set up the display.

Remember that gates open at 18.00 each night and each display will be 15 minutes.
Merseyrail run frequent trains from Liverpool to Southport and each evening ends with plenty of time to walk back for the train home. Victoria Park is just a 10-15 minute walk away from the train station. If you are visiting Liverpool why not make the most of it and head to Southport earlier to enjoy a day on the coast, you can plan your day here.

Friday and Sunday standing tickets are from just £7, Saturday standing tickets start at £9, or you can enjoy a full weekend pass for £22. Children under 5 are FREE but do need an entrance ticket.
