Walk the Plank, the team behind Liverpool Capital of Culture’s incredible opening and closing ceremonies, returns to the city in 2018 with a flaming good addition to the year’s festivities.

Based on the North West European tradition of lighting bonfires over Easter, this new mini-festival experience is sure to set imaginations alight with an atmospheric feast for the senses. Visitors will be able to get up close and feel the heat of spectacular fire-fuelled sculptural installations as they promenade through the historic gardens. Add to this a live performance soundtrack and artisan, flaming food and drink, and you have a must-see spectacular during the Easter break.

Walk the Plank is passionate about great storytelling. What’s more, the visionary company of artists is renowned for producing truly incredible spectacles right across Europe and beyond, and we can guarantee this new mini-festival event will be no exception.

Follow the trail of spectacular fire installations through the gardens and feel the heat as they come alive with a mesmerising mix of glowing and fiery flowers and trees. The seven-day spring celebration during Easter 2018, that will transform St John’s Gardens into a magical land of fire, music and art.

But Feast of Fire is a first for the Salford-based, self-confessed ‘collective of outdoor arts fanatics’, who love nothing better than to dream up and produce truly memorable moments for audiences all over the world.

And paired with Liverpool’s burning ambition to present its own memorable artistic experiences, where better to launch a new and exciting cultural concept than right here in the city?

The first four early evening sessions, recommended for families, start from 6pm –7.30pm. The later night sessions, which will have different, uniquely themed performances each evening, will be from 8.30pm-10.30pm. Each theme will be curated by different local collaborators with details to be revealed early in the new year.
