Heritage Open Days in Liverpool City Region

Explore some of Liverpool’s most historic venues as part of Heritage Open Days 2024.

Presented by the National Trust, Heritage Open Days this year celebrates its 30th anniversary. 

Giving visitors the chance to explore the heritage and history of the local community through events, tours and exhibitions, the free events will run from 6th - 15th September 2024.

Liverpool event highlights include a unique opportunity to explore the heritage of The Municipal Hotel, a chance to join the dock gatemen at Hartley Hut at the Royal Albert Dock and even a timetable of bus journeys through Liverpool aboard classic buses from yesteryear.

Events in Wirral

Heritage Open Day events in Wirral include guided tours of Bidston Lighthouse, heritage walks around Birkenhead Park and a look behind the scenes at Wirral Archives.

Events in Southport

Past events have included walking tours of 'Classical' Southport and Duke Street cemetery, opportunities to peek inside the Scarisbrick Mausoleum in Crossens and the historic conservatory and observatory in Hesketh Park, and an exhibition of art inspired by Southport's historic architecture.
