Swashbucklers get ready! The legendary pirate adventure is not to be missed. Bring the entire family to the Albert Dock for some swashbuckling shenanigans including live cannons, pirates, mermaids, thrilling battles and action on the water. 

Taking place on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 September, prepare yourself for thrilling live action, theatrical swordfights and breath-taking stunts, interwoven with local folklore and the fascinating heritage of the Liverpool privateers who once plundered the seven seas.

Be part of this free, family adventure and become a budding buccaneers and mythical mermaids. Get involved in the Pirates and Mermaid Parade inspired by the legendary Coney Island Mermaid Parade in America. Ahoy!

Road Directions

You’ll find brown tourist signposts to both ‘Liverpool waterfront’ and ‘Albert Dock’ from the M62; if you’re coming from Wirral via the M53, head northbound from Ellesmere Port, through the Wallasey (Kingsway) Tunnel.

Merge onto Scotland Road as you leave, and turn right at the lights, following signs for ‘Liverpool waterfront’ or ‘Albert Dock’.

Visitors arriving on the A41 through Birkenhead should follows signs for the Queensway Tunnel, which will in turn signpost you to the Dock and waterfront.

You’ll find parking on site at the Dock, plus supplementary car parks at both Liverpool ONE and ACC Liverpool.

On foot

Albert Dock is a 20-minute walk from Lime Street, Liverpool’s mainline station, through Liverpool ONE. You can also reach us on foot from either the Museum of Liverpool and Cruise Liner terminal, or ACC Liverpool.

By train

If you don’t fancy the 20-minute walk from Liverpool Lime Street, our mainline station, you can transfer to Merseyrail at Lime Street, which takes you to James Street Station, just a five minute walk from the Dock.

Both TransPennine Express and Northern Rail offer trains to and from Liverpool starting from as little as £3. Visit the Transpennine Express or Northern Rail websites to book, or for lots of useful information, offers and links for planning a day out in Liverpool.

By bus

The C4, C5 and City Link services stop at Albert Dock; the Liverpool ONE bus station is just opposite us too, where services in and out of the city centre start and finish.
