Super Lamb Banana

Super Lamb Banana

Commissioned in 1998 for Britain’s Art Transpennine exhibition, SuperLambBanana is one of the most popular and instantly recognisable pieces of public sculpture in Liverpool. The SuperLambBanana is the work of the Japanese artist Taro Chiezo. Now based in Manhattan,Taro is one of his country’s most successful visual artists of the last fifteen years. Through the SuperLambBanana, Taro aimed to represent both a sense of humour alongside the serious contemporary issue of genetic engineering.

You can purchase your own SuperLambBanana from any of the Liverpool Tourist Information Centres or online at www.superlambbanana.com
