Please give us an introduction to The Toni James Band

 

The Toni James Band is an award-winning band with over 20 years’ experience performing at corporate events and conferences across the UK and internationally.

 

Led by Toni James, the band is made up of some of the UK’s leading session musicians, with experience performing alongside global artists and at venues such as Glastonbury, The O2 Arena and Wembley.

 

The band has performed at a wide range of high-profile events such as the Grand National – performing on the main stage to 8,000 people, to major brand events for clients including Aston Martin, BMW, Domino’s, Chopstix and BBC Radio 2. Highlights also include multiple performances for Sir Alex Ferguson at charity events, as well as performing for the Prime Minister and Sir Richard Branson. The band has also worked internationally in Singapore, Cyprus, Turkey and France for corporate clients and destination events.

 

Known for their musicianship, energy and professionalism, the band is fully adaptable, from acoustic sets through to a full 14-piece show band, delivering tailored entertainment that keeps dance floors full.

Please introduce yourself

 

I’m Toni James, a lead singer, band leader and entertainment curator.

 

I’ve performed internationally and across the UK for over two decades, working across original music, weddings and corporate events. Career highlights include chart success in Germany, performing alongside artists such as The Kooks, Mica Paris and Ruby Turner, and working as a stand-in singer on The Voice.

 

Alongside running The Toni James Band, I’ve built long-standing relationships within the events industry, including providing entertainment for numerous venues, including the Titanic Hotel Liverpool for the past ten years.

 

More recently, my work has expanded into curating bespoke entertainment experiences for clients. I have also completed a Master’s degree in Music Industry Management, graduating with distinction, where my research explored the future of live entertainment and how we can better support and sustain artists within the industry.

Key features of your performances

 

One of the key strengths of The Toni James Band is flexibility. We can provide anything from an acoustic duo/trio for drinks receptions, through to a 4 to 10 piece party band or a full 14-piece show band.

 

Our repertoire spans over 100 songs across genres including Pop, Soul, RnB, Disco and Rock, allowing us to tailor each performance to suit the audience and atmosphere.

 

A standout feature of the band is our signature medleys, where songs are blended together to create a continuous, high-energy experience on the dance floor. Spanning multiple decades and genres, these are designed to appeal to all age groups and keep the energy building throughout the night.

 

Alongside the band, we also offer fully curated entertainment packages, including DJs, live instrumentalists, aerialists and immersive performers, all managed through one point of contact.

Tell us something we may not know about you and your business

 

Alongside performing, a big part of my work now focuses on supporting the musicians behind the performance.

 

Through my research and industry experience, I’ve developed a strong interest in how we can better support freelance artists, particularly around peer support, wellbeing and building more sustainable careers within the live events industry.

 

This shapes how I run the band and curate entertainment, with a focus on trust and long-term working relationships. It’s something clients may not always see, but it plays a big part in the consistency and quality of what we deliver.
