Without a doubt, the best way to arrive at Big Weekend is on public transport - it will be the quickest and easiest way to make sure you get to the festival on time and on point. And with the average double-decker taking 75 cars off the road, it’s way better for the planet!
Catching the train helps keep the planet green as trains give off five times less carbon emissions than cars do. Sustaining the environment, whilst avoiding the traffic, sounds like a win-win to us 💚
Liverpool City Region is serviced by Stagecoach and Arriva. Both Stagecoach and Arriva are available across the region and connecting buses to Sefton Park can be found in Liverpool ONE bus station. Contactless payment is accepted.
National Express, Flix Bus and Megabus operate from Liverpool ONE bus station connecting across the country.

There will be a dedicated shuttle bus service for Big Weekend. Buses will operate from the city centre on Charlotte Street / Elliot Street to Croxteth Drive at the event site, using fully electric double-deckers for a more sustainable journey. The service will run every 30 minutes at the following times:
Shuttle bus tickets cost £2 per single journey and can only be purchased on board. Advance purchase is not available.
Merseyrail serves the Liverpool City Region including Northern Line, Wirral Line and City Line.
Liverpool Lime Street station is the main gateway to the city with national rail services connecting to London, Scotland, Lake District, North East, Manchester and other areas of the UK.
The nearest stations to Sefton Park are St Michaels and Mossley Hill

Visit www.merseyrail.org or use the free Merseyrail app to plan your journey. Due to the late finish time of the event, customers are advised to check the last train times when planning their journey, for ease, you can find these below for Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

From Liverpool ONE to St Michaels station, Aigburth cycle routes are available and can take anywhere from 13-19 minutes to cycle, depending on the route you take.
Safe cycle storage is available at St Michaels station.
Bike racks will be available on a first-come, first-served basis at Livingstone North Car Park, with space for up to 40 bikes.
Security staff will be on site from 10:00–22:30 each day however bikes are left at the owner’s own risk. Liverpool City Council cannot take responsibility for any loss or damage.
When cycling please enter the park via the south side of the park close to the boating lake using Aigburth Road then Aigburth Drive to avoid cycling through dense crowds where you will be asked get off and push your bike.
If you fancy getting your steps in, Sefton Park is around a 45 minute - 1 hour walk (approx. 6160 steps) from Liverpool ONE Bus Station.

For those attending events at Sefton Park, Voi e-scooters offer a convenient Park & Ride option from several city centre car parks: Mount Pleasant Car Park , Kings Dock Car Park and Paddington Village Car Park.
The primary Voi scooter hub for the event is located at Livingstone North Car Park within Sefton Park, with scooters available on a first-come, first-served basis. To ensure safety and minimise congestion, it's recommended to enter Sefton Park via the south side near the boating lake, using Aigburth Road and then Aigburth Drive, as riding through dense crowds may require dismounting and walking your scooter.
Please note that certain areas within the event site are designated as no-drop-off and no-pick-up zones for Voi scooters; these restrictions are clearly marked in the Voi app. Parking is only permitted in designated zones, especially in city centre areas, and parking outside these areas may result in additional fees or inability to end your ride. For the most accurate and up-to-date information on scooter availability and parking zones, consult the Voi app before your journey.

We strongly advise ticketholders against driving to this event and to make use of public transport wherever possible for both ease and sustainability.
There is no parking for ticketholders at the event site and there will be zero tolerance in regards to nuisance parking on the roads surrounding Sefton Park, with enforcement officers on duty throughout. There will be numerous road closures in and around the park with access restricted to residents and businesses only.
There will be several road closures around the northern end of the park, near the entrance point known locally as the ‘Obelisk’ (Needle). The road closure will span from Aigburth Drive, at the junction of Livingston Drive South, clockwise to Greenbank Lane (Green Gate).
There will be a signed diversion to assist non-event traffic from: Ullet Road, Parkfield Road, Aigburth Road to Aigburth Drive and in the opposite direction: Ullet Road, Smithdown Road to Greenbank Road.
For people wishing to access Lark Lane, a diversion route will be in place from Aigburth Drive, Livington Drive South and Hargreaves Road.
Access to Sefton Park for general public will be from Queens Drive, Elmswood Road and Aigburth Road, close to the boating lake.

At approx. 22.00hrs each day, there will be a brief closure of Lark Lane, from Lark Way/ Hargreaves Road towards and including Linnet Lane and Livingston Avenue. This may also be implemented at any time, should the Event Safety Officer deem it necessary, if the volume of pedestrians is considered too high to be mixing with vehicles. |
Please be considerate of residents and do not park cars or arrange transport on any of the residential streets surrounding the event site.
