Christmas food and drink in Liverpool

There’s so many places to head in Liverpool to enjoy something to eat and drink this festive season. 

From traditional roasts with all the trimmings, to small plates with a twist, festive platters and Christmas cocktails, there is something for everyone!

We’ve made a list of venues in Liverpool not to miss which we’ll keep updated right up to Christmas. 

Bold Street and Georgian Quarter 

Bold Street, just at the foot of the Bombed Out Church is a popular street in the city known for its plethora of restaurants and independent stores. So if you need to pick up something unique for someone this Christmas then give Bold Street a try before heading for your Christmas meal! 

Just past the Bombed Out Church is where Liverpool's pretty Georgian Quarter begins. The original cobbled streets and 3 storey Georgian houses characterise this area and the doorways are often decorated in true style at Christmas. Also nearby is the Philharmonic Hall, Everyman Theatre and two cathedrals! 
 

LEAF, Bold Street

The home of festive feasting, book your Christmas night out at LEAF for their scrumptious festive feasting menus. Pick from a festive platter or Greek Mezze Platter followed by all the traditional main courses and a dessert platter!

Albert’s Schloss - Bold Street

It’s the season of celebration and the chefs at the new Albert's Schloss have created an Alpine-inspired Winter menu for you to enjoy. With Cook Haus classics and some festive dishes alongside authentic festive smorgasboards, you can’t go wrong here. Two courses are £35, three courses £40.

You can also enjoy a Festive Rise & Shine breakfast hosted by DJ Angel Of The Morning on the weekends which includes seasonal pastries and artisan breads baked in-haus, Kroissant Royal, Turkish Eggs and Mimosas on arrival  for £25pp. 
 

London Carriage Works - Hope Street, Georgian Quarter 

The festive menu at the London Carriage Works is perfect for a Christmas day out. Dine out with their traditional roasts featuring sage butter-roasted turkey, roasted hake, or celeriac and mushroom Wellington, served with all the trimmings, sounds perfect!
 

The Art School, Georgian Quarter

The Art School doesn't do Christmas by halves, with many different menus for you to pick from this festive season. Chef Paul Askew and the team have prepared a beautiful Festive Prix Fixe, a Festive Menu Excellence, a Festive Tasting Menu, Art School Cellars Afternoon Tea and special Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve menus too. There’s so much to choose from and it’s all delicious.
 

Royal Albert Dock

The Royal Albert Dock is a beautiful site all year round, but especially at Christmas when the iconic red columns are wrapped in a warm white glow. 

Below restaurants are all within the Royal Albert Dock, perfect to take in a pre or post meal walk around the dock to take in the beautiful twinkling lights and figurines. The Arena and Exhibition are also just door to Royal Albert Dock, so if you're heading to see Peter Pan or Sleeping Beauty this festive season these places are a quick walk away. 
 

Maray

Have yourself a Maray little Christmas by tucking into their Middle Eastern-inspired small plates including the famous Disco Cauliflower. Find Maray menu favourites combined with seasonal specials like crispy sprouts with chestnut tahini, XL pigs in blankets drenched in harissa and tamarind gravy, as well as Medjool date bread and butter pudding. Maray have venues on Bold Street and The Royal Albert Dock so there's enough room for everyone!

Lunyalita

Lunyalita is offering a special five-course tapas banquet featuring a spread of Spanish classics with a difference for Christmas dining Catalonian-style. Giant street food Christmas pintxos platters will be loaded with festive delicacies such as mini chorizo sausage rolls and turkey and cranberry croquetas. Their chocolate and cinnamon churros also make the perfect sweet dessert.
 

Madre

Tacos for Christmas? Sign us up! Madre’s speciality is front and centre this season. Their festive menu, made for parties of six or more, has a choice of two or three courses with tacos served in pairs, including a creative roast Brussel sprout topped with peanut miso!
 

Smugglers Cove

The cove is dressed and ready to make Christmas extra special with live music, festive drinks and a two or three-course set menu, designed for groups of six plus. With prices from £27.95 per person, try turkey kebab with ham, stuffing and pigs in blankets in an orange cranberry glaze - be sure to save space for the cookie dough pie too.
 

Gusto

Give Christmas a fabulous Italian flavour with Gusto’s choice of three-course menus for lunch and evening from £35 per person. Go traditional with bacon-wrapped roast turkey and all the trimmings or try a hearty vegan mushroom and red wine pudding with spiced cranberry lentils. Don’t forget to leave room for a Biscoff cheesecake as an extra treat. 

Rosa's Thai

Make Christmas an authentic Thai experience by indulging in Rosa’s three-course Thai Festive Feast with prices from £29.50 per person. Start with sharing platters, chicken wings and crackers then add on a main and dessert – a Thai take on crispy churros or chocolate brownie with coconut ice cream and homemade tamarind tom tum sauce are not to be missed!

Liverpool ONE

Home to the alpine inspired Bar Hutte, giant Christmas tree on Chavasse Park and not to mention hundreds of big name stores to find those perfect Christmas gifts in - These restaurants are perfectly placed for anyone who wants to combine last minute shopping and mulled wine with a wonderful Christmas feast. 

The Club House

Whether with friends, family or colleagues, celebrate those long-awaited Christmas get-togethers over mouth-watering dishes and wonderful concoctions from the bar at The Club House.

Filled with seasonal delights and well-loved festive favourites, there is something for everyone on their delicious Christmas Set Menu. Choose from butternut squash soup, festive spins on their famous hanging kebabs and a range of classic Christmas desserts.



 

Gordon Ramsay’s Bread Street Kitchen

Head over to Gordon Ramsay’s Bread Street Kitchen for a three course festive set menu and five course Christmas Day menu! On Christmas day, indulge in a selection of canapes including caviar blinis or goat’s cheese tartlet. Follow on with a selection of starters and enjoy a traditional roast turkey dinner, or mushroom and ricotta tortellini if you’re veggie. 

Desserts include traditional Christmas pudding with brandy butter sauce, chocolate fondant or black forest cheesecake, and a cheese board to finish!
 

Mamasan

Celebrate the festive season at Mamasan with a unique Southeast Asian twist. Pick from either 2 or 3 courses from the new menu which features Thai Fried Chicken, Hoisin Duck Doughnut, Chilli Caramel Smoked Pork Belly and Miso Roast Chicken Breast to name a few of the stunning dishes.
 

Waterfront/Commercial Quarter

Liverpool's iconic Three Graces - the Liver Building, Cunard and Port of Liverpool building are the jewel in the crown of Liverpool's world-renowned waterfront. Although it might be quite chilly down there in the winter months, the site of the Liver Building against a cold winter sky is a sight to behold. You'll also be close by to lively Castle Street, Liverpool Town Hall and Royal Albert Dock. 

Ma Boyles

Enjoy a three course festive dinner at Ma Boyles this Christmas, for £33 per person. Pick from your favourite main dish served with all the trimmings, accompanied by a tasty starter and a beautiful dessert in the cosy setting of Ma’s.
 

Gino D’Acampo Old Hall Street

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at Gino D’Acampo Liverpool and 360 Sky Bar with decorations in place and four delicious festive menus to choose from. All menus feature a generous selection of authentic Italian dishes prepared using the finest seasonal ingredients and a sprinkling of festive tradition.
