Over 80 of the best local independent businesses are set to be showcased at the very first St George’s Hall Market.

On Father’s Day, Sunday 16 June, one of Liverpool’s best-loved buildings will become a bustling marketplace as the Summer Market brings a whole range of stallholders to both the inside and outside of the hall.

Visitors will be able to eat their way around the world at an outdoor food zone on the plateau, at the Lime Street Station end, where there will be Chinese food and a Polish barbeque to name just two choices. And there are loads of sweet treats as well with crepes, cakes and some of the best chocolate makers attending.

The food and drink offer continues inside where there will be a fizz bar along with 60 further artists, makers and distillers who will be showcasing their wonderful products.

Shoppers will also be able to enjoy live music as they browse.

Entry to the market is free and it will be open from 10.30am - 4.30pm.

It is hoped that the market will be held on a seasonal basis.

Liverpool is home to a well-established markets offer, from the weekly Great Homer Street Market – Greatie Market - to a regular programme of farmers’ and craft markets.
