Liverpool’s most recognisable landmark has unveiled a new state-of-the-art interactive exhibition at the Royal Liver Building 360 Tour, using cutting-edge digital technology to bring the building’s extraordinary history and cultural significance vividly to life.
Delivered by Conductr, a Manchester-based creative studio specialising in immersive experiences, the new exhibition features a striking projection-mapped clock face and a large-scale video wall, combining heritage storytelling with the latest visual technology.
At the heart of the exhibition are five bespoke short films, each exploring a key chapter of the Royal Liver Building’s story:
- The Clocks – delving into the engineering and symbolism of the famous timepieces
- The Liver Birds – uncovering the myths, meaning and legacy of Liverpool’s legendary guardians
- The Royal Liver Friendly Society – celebrating the organisation that gave the building its name
- Construction – charting the ambitious design and pioneering techniques behind the build
- Iconic Moments – highlighting world-class events hosted around the building, including Eurovision 2023 and River of Light
In a further enhancement to accessibility and inclusivity, the exhibition also introduces an additional film showcasing breathtaking aerial drone footage captured by Liverpool-based operator Stratus Imagery. The film allows all visitors to experience the spectacular panoramic views from the top of the Royal Liver Building - including those who may be unable to take part in the tower tour itself.
The new exhibition forms part of the Visitor Centre at the Royal Liver Building 360 Tour, which is included within the standard tour ticket. Visitors can also choose to purchase a Visitor Centre–only ticket, making the experience accessible to a wider audience.
By blending heritage, innovation and accessibility, the new exhibition strengthens Liverpool’s cultural offer and reinforces the Royal Liver Building 360 Tour as a must-see attraction for both domestic and international visitors.
