As Beatle-fever beckons for International Beatleweek 2023, Strawberry Field invites festival-goers to uncover the magic of the South Liverpool landmark, a place that resonates with the band's spirit of creativity, peace, and unity.

 

The award-winning visitor attraction has put together a programme of special events to add to your festival itinerary. All events are free and ‘drop in’.

 

Tuesday 22nd August, 12pm - 2pm


Get Back to Play – Skiffle Band Session! One for all the family! Have a blast making your own instruments and playing them on the new Strawberry Field Bandstand in your own skiffle band. It's a chance to channel your inner musician and experience the joy of creating music just like The Beatles did during their early days.

 

Wednesday 23rd August, 12pm - 2.15pm


Singing Our Socks Off Choir and Additional Needs Choir Group Enjoy heartwarming choral performances by 20 choir members on our brand-new bandstand. From 12:00 to 12:45, the choir will bring you songs inspired by The Beatles. Later, at 1:30, the Additional Needs choir takes the stage, sharing their enchanting voices until 2:15.

 

Thursday 24th and Friday 25th August, 10am - 4pm


Beatles International Mini Convention Visit our bustling Beatles marketplace featuring eight stalls offering an array of merchandise, from books to jewelry. A haven for collectors and fans alike. Local talents and Beatles tributes will provide a musical backdrop, creating a lively atmosphere throughout the day.

The TR5s on the Bandstand Catch the TR5s on the bandstand, rocking the stage and getting you grooving in the garden.

Julia Baird talk, Q&A and booksigning Join Julia Baird, John Lennon’s sister and Honorary President of Strawberry Field at this rare opportunity to meet Julia in person and get your unique inscription in a copy of her book. Julia will give a talk and Q&A, as well as signing copies of her book, ‘Imagine This’. Booksigning 11am-2pm with talk midway through.

A short journey from the city centre, Strawberry Field offers a unique opportunity to delve into the personal history and creative inspiration that influenced John Lennon's music. Strawberry Field welcomes fans to:

● Interactive Exhibition: Immerse yourself in the history of this iconic location through an interactive exhibition. Discover the stories behind John's connection to Strawberry Field and how it led to the creation of the beloved song "Strawberry Fields Forever."

● Serene Gardens: Walk through the serene gardens that once captivated Lennon's imagination. Take in the peaceful ambiance that served as a retreat for reflection and inspiration.

● Café and Gift Shop: After exploring the grounds, enjoy refreshments or a meal in the on-site café while soaking in the tranquil surroundings. Don't forget to check out the gift shop for unique Beatles memorabilia.

● ‘Lennon Wired’ art exhibition by renowned pop artist James Wilkinson. View and buy original artworks created using the microphone leads Lennon used to record ‘Imagine’.
