Everyone loves a good cocktail. Whether you’re looking for somewhere to enjoy a tipple mid-week or somewhere to let your hair down at the weekend, we’ve put together a list of our favourite bars that serve up a boss cocktail, because ...it’s always 5 o’clock somewhere, right?

SANTA CHUPITO'S

You can find Santa Chupitos on the corner of the cobbled Seel Street in the Ropewalks area. Inside, the bar has a quirky yet cosy feel. They offer their own twist on classic cocktails from Passion Fruit Zombies to Bacon and Maple Old Fashioned. However, we’d definitely recommend starting off by trying their famous ‘5 Dollar Shake’... Vodka, Chambord, blueberries and ice cream all shaken up and served in a milk bottle = HEAVEN!

NEIGHBOURHOOD

A new bar on the block! Neighbourhood opened their Liverpool franchise in October 2017. Based in an old Bank on Castle Street, it has an amazing interior from high ceilings and extravagant windows to multi-coloured neon lights and plush yellow booths… we must mention this is a top Insta-worthy spot! Celebrating? Neighbourhood offers ‘social sharing’ cocktails to enjoy with friends.

BERRY & RYE

Sometimes, you need to get away from the crowd and find a secret spot. Berry and Rye is a hidden gem which combines whisky, blues, jazz and gin. Open seven nights a week, it’s a modern speakeasy. Just on the edge of Ropewalks, in Liverpool’s Chinatown. The ‘secret’ black door to enter can be hard to find at first, but knock and if you’re lucky, you’ll get in.

So one or two cocktails have turned into five or six? We understand, it happens to the best of us! El Bandito is open later than most in the city, tucked away under Santa Chupitos on Seel Street. It’s a cosy basement bar, open from 9pm-3am on a weeknight and until 5am on a weekend. Perfect for those of you that love staying out until the early hours! PLUS they run Happy Hour every day from 8-12pm… Winner! Their cocktails are mainly tequila or mezcal based, we would recommend trying their Blended Margarita.

THE BRINK

Looking for an alternative spot which doesn’t serve alcohol? Head over to the Brink. They have the largest selection of soft drinks, mocktails and fresh juices in the city. Brink also host regular events such as live music, poetry, plays, performances and open mic evenings.

VOLPI

Volpi on Duke Street is a bar and cafe inspired by the ones dotted around the French and Italian Rivieras. Have a look through their amazing cocktail menu, pull up a chair by the window and relax as you watch the world go by.

VOLPI NEGRONIS . The negroni is our favourite drink of all time. How such a simple drink can yield such complex results is fascinating to us, and a testament to traditional bartending techniques. For our three versions we wanted to keep the ingredients and techniques simple and tweak the classic ratios to showcase different aspects of each drink. Here are our takes on the classic and neo-classics. Classico: London Dry Gin, Campari, Sweet vermouth, neroli. Rosita: Blanco tequila, peach aperitif, Campari, grapefruit Bianco: Gin, italicus, suze, thyme, fennel seed, lemon. . . . . . #volpinegroni #volpi #negroni #aperitivo #worldsbestbars #imbibe #drinks #cafe #longlivethefox #liverpool #cocktails #campari
