Lockdown restrictions have now changed to allow for attractions, museums, galleries and theatres in Liverpool to open their doors for visitors once again.
To help you plan your day out in Liverpool, we’ve put together a list of attractions open with dates and how to book tickets to make planning your day out super simple!
Before your visit we would always recommend checking ahead with each venue to make sure they are open and what booking systems they have in place.
Each venue will also have their own social distancing measures in place and face coverings will be required at indoor venues.
Remember, please be considerate of other people whilst visiting a venue and adhere to their social distancing measures. We’re a city known for being friendly so let's keep that up and make sure everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience.

CHESTER ZOO - OPEN NOW
For a wild day out head over to Chester Zoo to see all of their incredible animals. It’s a brilliant day out for the whole family and is largely outdoors, perfect for a sunny day out. Book your tickets in advance.
THE BEATLES STORY - OPEN NOW
Learn all about the history of the biggest band in the world at The Beatles Story when they reopen from 17 May! It’s the world’s largest permanent exhibition dedicated to telling the story of the Fab Four with an immservie journey through their lives and career. Tickets need to be booked in advance and social distancing measures will be in place.
WESTERN APPROACHES - OPEN NOW
Liverpool’s biggest secret, Western Approaches are reopening their doors on 17 May for you to explore Liverpool’s WW2 bunker. Book your tickets in advance before your visit.
MERSEY FERRIES - OPEN NOW
Mersey Ferries are back running their River Explorer Cruises from 17 May so you can enjoy setting sail across the Mersey on the famous ferry once again. Book your tickets here.
CAVERN CLUB - OPEN NOW
The most famous club in the world will be opening their doors again on 17 May so you can enjoy a drink surrounded by Beatles history. For more information on visiting the Cavern Club see their website here.
LIVERPOOL CATHEDRAL - OPEN NOW
Liverpool Cathedral, the largest cathedral in Britain will be opening their doors for visitors again on 17 May. If you visit before 31 August you'll get the chance to see the stunning Peace Doves piece too - it's certainly not too miss. TATE LIVERPOOL - OPEN NOW
Tate Liverpool open their doors from 18 May and have extended their 5 star exhibition of photographer Don McCullin for you to see a little bit longer alongside so many other art works too. Book your timed ticket slot in advance.
WALKER ART GALLERY - OPEN NOW
The Walker Art Gallery will open their doors from 18 May so you can explore their wonderful exhibitions once again including this year’s John Moores Painting Prize. Entry remains free but you will need to book your timed slot in advance of your visit. Find out more on their website here.
WORLD MUSEUM - OPEN NOW
The World Museum will be reopening from 18 May with their brand new exhibition AI: More Than Human. It’s definitely worth a visit to explore the world of artificial intelligence. Book your tickets here.
MUSEUM OF LIVERPOOL - OPEN NOW
The Museum of Liverpool are back open from 18 May with so much to see across their exhibitions. Book your timed slot in advance of your visit here.
INTERNATIONAL SLAVERY MUSEUM - OPEN NOW
International Slavery Museum are reopening their doors from 18 May with all of their permanent exhibitions on display. Entry remains free but you will need to book a timed slot in advance of your visit.
LADY LEVER ART GALLERY - OPEN NOW
Lady Lever Art Gallery over the water in Wirral houses one of the UK’s finest collections of fine and decorative art and they reopen on 18 May for you to see it all! Entry is free but a timed ticket slot must be booked in advance of your visit.
STRAWBERRY FIELD - OPEN NOW
Strawberry Field are reopening their gates on 18 May for you to explore one of the most famous Beatles landmarks in Liverpool. Tickets must be booked in advance of your visit.
ROYAL LIVER BUILDING 360 - OPEN NOW
No day out in Liverpool is complete without taking a trip to the top of Liverpool’s most iconic building. The Royal Liver Building 360 tour reopens from 19 May allowing you to take an incredible journey through the building’s history with a world-class digital projection show and amazing 360 views across the city. Tickets must be booked in advance.
THE BLUECOAT - OPEN NOW
Over lockdown, Bluecoat has gone through a bit of a transformation, updating their new cafe and Hub space. You can be one of the first people to see it when they reopen on 19 May and you can book your tickets now! They will also be hosting work as part of this year’s Liverpool Biennial too!
FACT - OPEN NOW
FACT are opening their doors again on 19 May for you to visit their incredible building. With 3 new free exhibitions, immersive events and an exciting film programme, there’s lots going on for you to explore.
SPEKE HALL - OPEN NOW
Speke Hall will be reopening their rare Tudor house in the heart of a green oasis on 19 May so you can spend the day exploring all their beautiful grounds. It is recommended you pre-book your visit at busier times like weekends and school holidays.
OPEN EYE GALLERY - OPEN NOW
Photography gallery, Open Eye Gallery, will be reopening their doros on 19 May to welcome a new exhibition as part of this year’s Liverpool Biennial.
THE BRITISH MUSIC EXPERIENCE - OPEN NOW
The British Music Experience are reopening their doors from 29 May with a brand new exhibition, ‘Frankie Says 1984: The World is My Oyster’. Book your tickets in advance so you don’t miss out.
ANFIELD STADIUM TOURS - 3 JUNE
Anfield Stadium tours will be resuming on 3 June so you can visit the home of the Reds. Tours will be led by an expert tour guide as they take you round areas of the stadium you’ve never seen before. Book your tickets in advance.
LIVERPOOL BEATLES MUSEUM - OPEN NOW
Featuring over 1000 rare and authentic items across four floors, the Liverpool Beatles Museum is home to the largest collection of authentic Beatles items in the world! They are back open from 18 June ready for you to start exploring.
LIVERPOOL PHILHARMONIC HALL - OPEN NOW
Liverpool Philharmonic Hall are reopening with a whole ehost of brand new performances from the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra alongside shows, concerts and gigs too!
LIVERPOOL CENTRAL LIBRARY - OPEN NOW
If you’re around St George’s Quarter then make sure you pop into Liverpool Central Library for a visit. The grand staircase will take your breath away and the Picton Reading room is like stepping into the set of Harry Potter. The views from the roof terrace are definitely worth it too.
