This summer, don’t miss the rare opportunity to experience one of Liverpool’s most breathtaking architectural treasures as St George’s Hall unveils its world-famous Minton tile floor from 17 July to 2 September 2026.
Usually hidden beneath a protective wooden covering to preserve its exceptional craftsmanship, the Minton floor will be revealed for an extended public viewing, allowing visitors to see one of the finest surviving examples of Victorian design anywhere in the world.
Comprising more than 30,000 hand-crafted tiles, the spectacular mosaic is celebrated for its intricate patterns, rich colours and classical motifs. A masterpiece of art and engineering, it has captivated generations of visitors and remains remarkably well preserved more than 150 years after its creation.
Adding to the experience, a special programme of events will run alongside the reveal, giving visitors even more opportunities to explore the history, craftsmanship and significance of this iconic Liverpool landmark.
