The race lasts 10 minutes; the experience lasts a life time.
For a few brief moments each year in April since 1836, the world's most famous racecourse runs the world's most famous race - The Grand National.
Aintree has three Grandstands The Earl of Derby, The Lord Sefton Stand and the Princess Royal Stand, two smaller stands, the Lord Daresbury Stand and the Queen Mother. Also at the course is a Parade Ring and Winners Enclosure and the fantastic Aintree Pavilion, offering a first class racing experience for the 21st century spectator.
When not staging the world’s most famous horse race, Aintree hosts an additional four racedays a year and as well as being a successful conference and events venue, Aintree houses the longest nine-hole golf course in the country nestled within the Grand National course - a true test for any golfer. Visitors eager to sample the magic of Aintree and the Grand National meeting at any other time of the year can do so by visiting Aintree’s visitor centre, open May - October.
