There's no place quite like Goodison Park, the home of 'The Toffees.' There's no sound quite like the roars of over 40,000 blues spectactors on a Saturday. There's no atmosphere quite like that of Everton's 'Grand Old Lady' on football day.
Unarguably the less well known of the two Liverpool Premier League football teams, Everton has a strong more local fan-base than that of it's rivals. It was also the first team on the block, founded in 1878 by St Domingo Chuch, Everton were pioneers of Football and one of the founders of the football league.
They started at Anfield before heading to Goodison, the first English stadium purposely built for football that also had under-soil heating.
Everton Football Club is among many genuine footballing legends and has seen many superstars wearing the famous blue shirt from Dixie Dean to Duncan Ferugson. The team have a long thrilling history of FA Cup triumph and League Championships,
See what goes on behind the scenes at the home of The Toffees with a stadium tour, then you might find out where their 'sweet' nickname comes from.
