The everchanging landscape of Formby makes for some beautiful scenery on a day out at the Formby Red Squirrel Reserve. Red squirrels, natterjacks and miles of coastal walks,runs or bike rides are waiting to be discovered!
Here is where you'll see pretty breathtaking sea views. The changing tides and current erosion of the coastline means that often prehistoric mud layers are revealed. Look closely for prehistoric human and animal footprints!
There's also a history lesson to be learned, explore the fascinating coastal history of Formby and the links with asparagus growing and the early days of aviation.
The reserve is 15miles north of Liverpool city centre, 2miles west of Formby, 2miles off A565 and 6miles south of Southport.
Formby–BR Freshfield, to within half a mile.
