Port Sunlight is a beautiful model village and award-winning tourist attraction boasting wide boulevards lined with charming cottages, all built in an intriguing range of architectural styles.
Originally built for workers at the nearby Lever Brothers Factory, the Wirral village attracts around 300,000 visitors each year.
With more than 2000 residents, the village features a range of attractions including the award-winning Port Sunlight Museum and a recently-restored Edwardian workers’ cottage.
The village is the perfect choice for a day out with 130 acres of beautiful parkland and gardens. Also benefiting from excellent transport links, the village is just a short train ride from Liverpool and has extensive parking.
Guided walking tours can be arranged throughout the year, enabling visitors to enjoy all the highlights and landmarks, while getting a real insight into village life, past and present. Self-guided tour maps are available at Port Sunlight Museum, allowing visitors to explore the village’s nooks, crannies and lesser known areas.
Port Sunlight Village Trust holds a wide range of fun events and activities throughout the year, while families can explore the village via two trails ‘Explorers’ and ‘Past and Present.’
The museum shop, featuring souvenirs including Sunlight Soap and Vinolia, postcards depicting village scenes and artwork created by local artists, is also well worth a browse, as is the stunning Lady Lever Art Gallery.
