About

Strawberry Field, a former Salvation Army children's home in the Liverpool suburb of Woolton, is a famous landmark relating to The Beatles in the city.

The name of the home became world famous in 1967 with the release of The Beatles single 'Strawberry Fields Forever', written by John Lennon. Lennon lived close to Strawberry Field in his youth and used to enjoy attending the garden party that took place each summer on the grounds.

Today, fans are able to visit Strawberry Field to view the replica of the world-famous red gate. Around the corner from the landmark is John Lennon's childhood home, Mendips, and Paul McCartney's home on Forthlin Road is just a short walk away.

Visitors can pay homage to the Fab Four and visit the gates all year round, or hop on the Magical Mystery Tour bus and visit the famous sights of the Fab Four in Liverpool.
