World Museum will be reopening on 15th July 2020 following the lockdown period.
They have been working hard to welcome you back safely, so you'll notice a few changes around the museum.
There will be a lower capacity of visitors within the building, suggested one way routes with clear signage, enhanced cleaning procedures, hand sanitiser stations at key points, cafes and shops operating a contacless payment method and interactive touch points closed.
The museum will remain free but you will have to book a ticket for a timed slot to visit. Visit the Liverpool Museums website for more information on when tickets will become available.

The Museum’s 'Ancient Egypt' is a journey through time gallery takes visitors on a 5,000-year adventure to the land of the pharaohs, and reveals one of the UK’s most significant collections of Egyptian objects. There’s no better place to come face-to-face with the past and delve deeper into the myths, mysteries and rituals surrounding the ancient Egyptian afterlife than in the gallery’s atmospheric Mummy Room.
Discover the wonders of the natural world in the award winning Clore Natural History Centre. This is the place to get your hands on more than 20,000 of the most unusual items from the huge collections, from a hippopotamus skull to a mammoth tooth.
There’s also the Weston Discovery Centre, which offers a range of activities and interaction to provide a fascinating insight into human history throughout the ages.
Find a rainbow array of beautiful tropical fish at the aquarium, expert staff are on hand to answer questions and run demonstrations in which visitors can observe and learn more about live marine creatures .Get closer than you ever thought possible to creepy crawlies at the bug house. The bug house displays a selection of specimens from the museum's vast research collection alongside real live colonies of leaf cutter ants.
Blast off into space at World Museum’s Planetarium with some brand new shows. Meet IQ, Scooter and Nat in Fly me to the Moon, a fantastic adventure for young space fans aged four and over. Or, join Coyote in a fast-paced, fun show that explores lunar phases, eclipses and other puzzles in Earth, Moon and Sun, aimed at visitors aged six and over. Buy your tickets at the information desk on your visit.

Follow the brown and white road signs for central Liverpool attractions and Walker Art Gallery Look out for signs for St John's or Queen Square car parks. These are between the main shopping area bus stops and St John's Gardens (behind St George's Hall). World Museum Liverpool is on the other side of St John's Gardens.
Regular services to and from Liverpool make it one of the most accessible cities on the UK rail network. Virgin trains operate a London-Liverpool service, with a journey time of just over 2 hours.
