Air

Liverpool John Lennon Airport is only nine miles from Liverpool city centre and offers over 60 inbound UK and European routes. Carriers such as easyJet, Ryanair, Wizz Air, Loganair and Blue Air offer convenient and cost effective air travel from most major European cities.

Manchester Airport is only 45 minutes from Liverpool city centre and offers many direct long haul routes in to the North West. Carriers include British Airways, Emirates, Etihad and KLM.

Rail

Travelling to Liverpool by train has never been easier or faster, when it’s only 2 hours 13 minutes from Central London with Avanti. Onboard you can enjoy space to relax and unwind, Wi-Fi internet, power sockets and Quiet Zones for those who need a break from the mobile phone.

London Northwestern Railway, Transpennine Express and Northern Rail also run routes into Liverpool from all major UK cities.

Once in Liverpool, the Merseyrail train network has good links to other parts of the city region.


Road

Liverpool City Region is well-connected to the UK motorway network. From the M6 take the M62, M58 or M56 direct to the destination.

To travel to the Wirral peninsula from Liverpool city centre, use one of the Mersey Tunnels. And to head up to Southport, you can enjoy the drive along the coastal road. The Silver Jubilee Bridge in Runcorn crosses the River Mersey and Manchester Ship Canal to provide convenient road access to Halton. Knowsley and St. Helens are easily accessible too, both only a short drive from the city centre.


City Centre Car Parking

Coach Travel

For those transporting recognised official ‘Coach Friendly’ destinations visitors by coach, there are over 60 parking bays and pick up/drop off points across Liverpool city centre.  Both Liverpool and Southport are both by the Confederation of Passenger Transport.

Sea

Arrive in Liverpool along the River Mersey and get the best views of the world-famous Liverpool Waterfront.

Ferry routes between Liverpool and Belfast are operated by Stena Line, between Liverpool and Dublin by P&O Ferries, and between Liverpool and the Isle of Man by the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company.

The City of Liverpool Cruise Terminal is located on Liverpool Waterfront, part of the city’s UNESCO World Heritage Site. Magnificent cruise vessels frequently berth and start and finish in the city.
