Presented by the National Trust, Heritage Open Days this year celebrates its 30th anniversary. 

Giving visitors the chance to explore the heritage and history of the local community through events, tours and exhibitions.

Liverpool City Region event highlights include a unique opportunity to explore the heritage of The Municipal Hotel, a chance to see inside the India Buildings and even a timetable of bus journeys through Liverpool aboard classic buses from yesteryear.

Heritage Open Day events in Liverpool include Central Library and archives Heritage Tours, Classic Liverpool Bus Running Day, free drop-in visits to The Old Dock at Liverpool ONE, Bluecoat Heritage Tours and much more!

Heritage Open Day events in Wirral include guided tours of Bidston Lighthouse, heritage walks around Birkenhead Park and a look behind the scenes at Wirral Archives.

Past events have included walking tours of 'Classical' Southport and Duke Street cemetery, opportunities to peek inside the Scarisbrick Mausoleum in Crossens and the historic conservatory and observatory in Hesketh Park, and an exhibition of art inspired by Southport's historic architecture.
