A detailed description of Rangoli Mirrored Cosmos for those who are visually impaired 

A series of 1.8 metre tall fibreglass petal sculptures coloured solidly in pink, green, blue, yellow, orange and purple arranged in a flower formation each with a reflective internal face. Rangoli Mirrored Cosmos also has a light in the centre of the flower arrangement. The 3D sculpture also featured large interactive floor graphics at specific slots arranged around the flower. These floor graphics depict two different traditional mandala flowers. Originally Installed as part of the London Design Festival in 2023.

There is no soundscape accompanying this artwork. 

Visual and Light considerations

The lighting element of this installation consists of a very soft glowing light. 

Noise considerations

The installation has no soundscape or accompanying music.

General considerations

  • The approach and circulation on Mann Island are level.
  • The installation itself contains a seating area in each of the petals. Additionally, benches are situated in the vicinity of the installation.

Quiet hour measures

River of Light will be organising four 'Quiet Hour' sessions for 2024. They will take place on the following days/times: - 

  • Sunday 27 October, Monday 28 October, Sunday 3 November and Monday 4 November. 
  • 4pm - 5pm

Measures that will be in place during the 'Quiet Hour' staging will be different for each installation and further details can be found here.

During the quiet hour, the installation will remain the same.
